I Guess I Stopped Believing

I guess I stopped believing in other people's words. Saying they'd do this, they'd do that. Saying they won't. Saying they will. Whether it's a promise or not, their words just tend to be broken. Commitment is a figment of the imagination. So I just listen or read that they'd say it. My mind will acknowledge. Will remember they said this. They said that.

But should they do what they've told or not, I won't expect. Let them be.
