2018: Where Did Some of my Cash Go?

So, hello. Ang tagal na pala from the time I wrote an entry here. Wow, busy kid? Anyway, this blog is about me. Of course. It is always about me.

When the year started, I decided to save some cash and went along with the hype of the 2018 Ipon Challenge. There was this template from Peso Sense FB page in which Gwi, my officemate-friend created a template for us to print: Road to 53k

I believe seven from our division asked for a print-out but I am not sure if they continued theirs but I did. Unfortunately, 2018 is nearing to end but I was not able to shade everything. But hey! They said focus on the journey, not the destination (pampalubag loob, chos).

At the beginning, I was really saving the exact denominations but when I shaded the whole set for one denomination, I shifted to another denomination but of the same value. Example, may dalawa akong PHP50.00, eh tapos ko na 'yung PHP50.00 na denomination i-shade, ang shinade ko, 'yung PHP100.00 na and so on.

Haha! Mga katamaran ko na naman sa life.

When April 2018 came, the first set of money I saved for the 53k challenge, I used it to pay for my insurance. Not bad! Taps my back.

Earlier today, I counted the remaining ones and it turned out that I have PHP10,000 to PHP15,000.00 from my jars! This included the 53k challenge and the PHP100.00 I save every pay day.

Aside from doing this 53k challenge, we also had our ICOMM Ipon in the office. Every payday, ICOMM savers hand their PHP500.00 to us (Anneth and I). We placed it in the bank. Yup, small interest but all we wanted was to save. And, kasi nga tamad kami ni Anneth. Gusto namin madalian lang. Kapag sa iba namin nilagay, for example sa cooperative o ano man, sino mag aasikaso? Sino pupunta kung saan-saan? Haha! So ayon. Mga dakilang tamad.

Each saver who religiously gave PHP500.00 every cut-off took home PHP12,000.00. Sixteen (16) members kami so kung paghahatian 'yon, may tigka-kuwatro kami. Haha!

Food is layfu. But every payday, I make sure I save a certain amount (kahit madalas, nakukuha ko rin naman siya. Haha! I think, a motivation comes along with the thought of having the print out until it became a habit for me. And since nagbabago na tayo ng coins, lahat nang bagong coins na nakukuha ko, nilalagay ko sa separate jar. My coins alone were around PHP1,300. 'Yung kanina, ipapapalit ko pagpasok namin next year. I also save every payday for my insurance para hindi isang bagsakan ang babayaran ko sa due date. Baby steps, darling.

Siguro, gagawin ko ulit ito next year, or perhaps, tapusin ko muna itong shading shading.

By the way! This template also comes in digital form! There's an app you can download at Play Store, Ipon: The Money Challenge. You may change the total amount per denomination, select denominations you want, and it automatically adds up your savings. So for those who cannot live without their phones (like me), try to check it out! Not sure if App Store also has it...

OK, OK. Stay awesome!
