Stamp Pad

I was roaming around SM Department Store and I found this on the Stationery section. It brought back memories.


Halos lahat naman ata, alam na honor student ako simula pa nung una (though I had my moments. May years, as in years, plural, na nawala ako sa honor list nung elementary. I even had line of sevens in two consecutive gradings). May dahilan ba't ko sinama ito. Tuloy ang pagbasa para malaman. Lol!
Alam ko, I was grade one that time. Nanay said I will get a reward if my grades are good and maybe, if I score a place on the top 10. I can't remember if I aced an exam or if I was part of the top 10 why did this thing happened. What I remember is that, one night, after dinner, Nanay said, Tinignan mo na ba ang bag mo? (Have you checked your bag?)
I rushed to my bag and checked the compartments until I checked the side pockets. There it was. A stamp pad. I still remember how it looked like. It doesn't look like the one I saw earlier. It was in a smaller rectangular container with a sturdier case. Like a little luggage or briefcase. The stamps were animals. My favorite was the panda. I had two inks - red and blue. I played with my stamps almost everyday that time. I even used the ink pads for my thumbs. I felt like I was "signing" things using my fingerprints. (Hahaha!)
